Overview
Asia is the wellspring of many of the world's richest and most enduring civilisations. More than half of humankind lives in Asia. How do you begin to learn more about Islam in Indonesia, Gandhi and non-violence, Korean cinema, manga, doing business in Hong Kong, international relations, colonialism and communism?
The Asian Studies' Bachelor of Arts major gives you the scope and flexibility to combine everything from political science to music in one degree. You start with a broad course in the first year designed to explore the complexities of New Zealand's engagement with 'Asia' from a variety of disciplinary perspectives. The Asian Studies major then offers so many directions that the hardest part of planning your degree will be choosing what fascinates you the most.
