Asian Studies Institute Executive Committee

The Executive Committee advises the Council on all matters relating to research development and academic course programming, planning, and development in the field of Asian Studies. It consists of the Director of the Institute, as the ex officio Chair of the Executive Committee, and four other members who are elected by the Fellows of the Institute and serve for a two-year term.

The Executive Committee meets at least three times a year, and makes decisions by simple majority vote of those present. The Executive Committee reports to the Council at each meeting of the Council. For a list of members and their contact details please see the Executive Committee webpage.

Asian Studies Institute Council

The Council comprises of the Director of the Institute and not more than fifteen other members of the Institute, where at least six members represent the University Faculties.

The Council, as far as possible, represent the range of teaching and research interests in the University in the fields of Asian Studies and other Asian-related Studies.

The Council includes at least one member of each Faculty of the University, to be appointed by the existing Council after consultation with the relevant Pro Vice-Chancellor and/or Dean, and a postgraduate student representative. Asian Studies Institute Fellows

A Fellow of the Institute is defined as a member of the University or broader academic community who has a declared and demonstrated interest in Asian Studies and other Asian-related Studies and has been recognised by the Council.
