Overview
Are you an emerging information professional looking for a career in libraries, archives or records management? Graduates seeking employment in these areas, or in the corporate information sector, require Master's level education in the complex disciplines governing information storage and retrieval, information management and communication.
The Master of Information Studies offers professional education in these three disciplines, based on a core set of courses incorporating management, information technology and research methods. Victoria's Information Studies Programmes give a thorough, research-based grounding in information technology and knowledge organisation, oriented to the needs of New Zealand information professionals.
A flexible learning approach enables you to study on campus in Wellington, or anywhere in New Zealand through Web-based learning, high quality course material, audio conferences, and Internet resources. In Auckland, the programme delivery is varied, including some scheduled classes delivered at a convenient city location. Tutorials are also delivered in other centres according to demand.
Students interested in this subject should also review the courses and qualifications available within Information Management.
