Prof Rowena Cullen

Introduction

Rowena is the Associate Dean, Research, for the Faculty of Commerce and Administration. She has achieved professional and international recognition for her research, teaching and other professional contributions, and brings those attributes to this role within the Faculty.

Research

Rowena's research interests encompass e-government, health informatics, and evaluating information services. These all involve an analysis of how people use information, what they are seeking in accessing information services, and how well these needs are met, whether this is through a health information service, a government website or a library. In 2009, Rowena gave her inaugural Professorial Lecture "Why IT matters -- your health and the public health", which explored some of the successful uses of health information technology (IT), and possible reasons for the apparent failure of health IT projects.
