Introduction
Chern Li's research in progress is on a number of fronts but with evident inter-relationship. Her research interests are motivated by a desire to understand and to enhance user-information (digital objects) interaction in the digital and networked environment. Informing and supporting this key research interest is an ongoing, coherent research programme focusing on:
- The design and usability of digital libraries/information retrieval systems
- Human information interaction
- Digital cultural heritage
- Context-sensitive information seeking and knowledge discovery
A related interest is social informatics theory and applications, particularly those related to the dynamics of socio-cultural contexts.
Chern Li is on the editorial advisory boards of the International Journal of Digital Library Systems, and Online Information Review. She is also VUW/SIM's representative on the Consortium of iSchools Asia Pacific.
