Introducing Professor Jeff Baker, who is a Visiting Scholar from the American University of Sharjah.

Jeff Baker is an Associate Professor at the American University of Sharjah. His research focuses on IT strategy, with emphases on strategic alignment, strategies in electronic commerce, and the business value of IT. His research has appeared in the Journal of the AIS, the Journal of Strategic Information Systems, Decision Support Systems, Communications of the AIS, and other leading journals.

Beyond research, Jeff finds teaching and mentoring students to be the most rewarding part of his work.  Jeff is originally from the United States of America, where he lived in Texas.  He’s been married to Cindy for seventeen years , with whom he loves to travel. 

Their favorite trips have been traveling east Africa on safari, snorkeling in the Maldives, experiencing the history and great food in Italy, relaxing seaside in Thailand, and touring New Zealand.  Cindy is a runner, Jeff is an avid golfer, both love to cook.  They’re active members and have great friends at Redeemer Church of Dubai.
