MDIA-408 – Media Policy

The course critically examines the political, economic and normative aspects of media policy, including legal/regulatory and funding arrangements. The focus will be primarily on contemporary New Zealand but will include consideration of the historical and global context of media policy and comparative cases where relevant. The course will emphasise broadcasting, but will include consideration of digitalisation, convergence, censorship and intellectual property in relation to various media forms. 100% internal assessment.
