Undergraduate Study Options
There are a number of options for studying Economics and Finance at undergraduate level within the School of Economics and Finance, as part of a Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science, which may be entirely focused on either Economics or Finance (single major), both, or in conjunction with one of a wide range of other subject (double major).
Which degree or combination you choose can depend on a number of factors, including: keeping your options open for further postgraduate study, personal preference for the degree 'label' and degree flexibility. Our disciplines can be combined with a multitude of others to ensure you are both marketable and get to study subjects that interest you during your time at Victoria.
Bachelor of Commerce and Administration
The Bachelor of Commerce and Administration (BCA) programme has been designed to equip students for a successful future in today's exciting commercial environment. It provides a strong foundation of the essentials required for work in all areas of public administration and private business.
The BCA requires that all graduates have completed a seven paper 100-level 'core' in the following subjects:
- ACCY111 Accounting
- ECON130 Economic Principles and Issues
- FCOM111 Government, Law and Business
- INFO101 Foundations of Information Systems
- MARK101 Principles of Marketing
- MGMT101 Introduction to Management
- QUAN102 Statistics for Business

Bachelor of Arts
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) equips students with a number of important life skills. These include an ability to communicate clearly, and ability to think critically and creatively, an ability to solve problems across a wide range of domains, and general leadership abilities.
