Victoria Economic Commentaries was a journal published by the School of Economics and Finance. It contained short papers written mainly, although not exclusively, by Victoria University economists; and is intended for an audience wider than the economics profession.
Published from 1984 until 2000, the Commentaries focused primarily on economic issues of relevance to New Zealand and was aimed at fostering an understanding of economics amongst the wider community. Unfortunately the Commentaries has now lapsed.
Except where otherwise stated, material in the Commentaries may be cited freely provided credit is given to the authors, and for reprinted material, to the original source. The School produced a "Monograph Series" and the second issue written by Emeritus Professor Bryan Philpott is available.
The School hopes to resume its production of the VEC in the future and will have papers available directly from its website.
