How our Student and Academic Services can help you
On this page:
Welcome
Welcome to the Faculty of Science at Victoria. You, our student, are very important to us. We are here to help and support you through your studies in whatever way we can. We pride ourselves on being a friendly and approachable team.
In your first year, you may have questions and concerns that you think are too trivial to raise. We want you to know that nothing related to your studies at Victoria is too small or too big for us. We may be able to solve your problem directly, or else source help or information from one of our schools or the University's central services. Whatever it is, it's our job to help you through to a good solution.
We look forward to seeing many of you progress to postgraduate studies. As you advance in your studies, your questions and concerns may become more complex, but will be no less important to us. We will still be there to assist you.
If you are a Māori or Pacific student, we would be pleased to welcome you into the Āwhina whānau, where you can access mentoring and extra support for your studies.
The Student and Academic Services team looks forward to meeting you. Take a few minutes to browse the services offered and described here and please make our office your first point of contact.
We trust that your years of study in the Faculty of Science will be memorable and successful.

We are located on the ground floor of the Cotton Building, Kelburn Campus, near the Wishbone cafe. Student enquiries are welcomed from 8.30 am - 5.00 pm and from 9.30 am on Tuesdays.
Student Advisers
Student Advisers are your first point of contact for things like admission requirements, degree planning, changing courses and transfer of credit from other tertiary institutions. They also deal with enrolment, organise exams and maintain student records.
The advisers will provide administrative support throughout your study. For continuity of personal service, please contact an adviser based on the first letter of your surname:

I - Q: Rachel Zhang
-
R - Z: Janelle Parry
-
Postgraduate students should contact Patricia Stein

International students should contact Victoria International.
The Associate Dean (Students and Postgraduate Research) is also available for help with academic programmes and with any other issues which may prevent you from achieving your full potential at university.
