Whanau Rooms

If you are a Maori or Pacific Nations student currently enrolled in Science or Architecture/Design degrees, then you can access one of Awhina's four whanau rooms:

• CO145a (Maths, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Geology, Geophysics, Environmental Science, Development Studies) Entry by security pin, see one of the coordinators in Cotton 148.

• KK406 (Biological Sciences) Entry by security pin (see Mary Murray SBS Admin Office).

• EA401 (Psychology) Collect a key from the School of Psychology Administration Office (on Level 6).

• Architecture and Design whanau room (room 1.28) Keys are available from the Architecture & Design Administration Office in exchange for the student's ID card.

Mentors

Mentors and helpful staff provide extra help sessions in most science subjects. These help sessions are held in the following Awhina Whanau Rooms:

• CO145a - SCPS, SGEES, SMSCS Timetable
• EA401 - Psychology Timetable
• Room 1.28 - Architecture and Design Timetable

Library

Te Ropu Awhina Putaiao provides a number of text books for students to borrow. The Awhina library is located in CO148 and is open 8:30am - 5pm. Awhina would like to thank everyone who has donated books to our library. The library consists of books from the following areas:

• Biological Sciences
• Chemical and Physical Sciences
• Geography, Environment & Earth Sciences
• Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science
• Psychology

Notice Board

The Faculty of Science notice board in Cotton Street contains up-to-date notices and scholarship details. Please check the board regulary. Information is also on noticeboards in all the whanau rooms.
