Our mission

The mission of the School of Biological Sciences is to pursue excellence in teaching and research across a wide range of biological disciplines. Our programmes span the full range of contemporary biology, from biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular biology, genetics, and biomedical sciences to ecology, marine biology, systematics, and natural history.

With a staff of about 60, we collaborate with scientists at many other institutions and offer a full range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and qualifications.
