Dr Maxime Bouchard presents Programmed cell death in tissue morphogenesis and disease

Canada Research Chair in Developmental Genetics of the Urogenital System, Rosalind and Morris Goodman Cancer Research Centre, McGill University

The development control of apoptosis (programmed caell death) is crucial in the normal tissure morphogenesis during embryonic development. DR Bouchard's research focuses on the molecular pathways modulating the apoptotic response in the mouse embryo, with a special emphasis on the process of ureter maturation whereby the developing ureter is displaced towrds its final position in the bladder wall. This process is tightly controlled by programmed cell death such that both reduced or excessive apoptosis lead to disease states.

All undergraduate students and interested parties are welcome to attend
