This course examines the changing relationship between museums and Maori people from the colonial period to the present.
Through a series of case studies explored in seminar based discussion of history and theory, the relationship between material culture, cultures of display and audience is explored. The course culminates in a research project and presentation on specific museums/exhibitions.
