Areas of research and teaching interest include banking law and regulations, contract law, commercial equity, and law of restitution. Mr de Silva is currently teaching undergraduate courses on contract law, special contracts and banking law; current issues in contract law in the MBA programme; banking law and regulations in the Honours programme. Also, he was a Visiting Lecturer at RMIT, Victoria University of Technology and Deakin University (Burwood Campus), Melbourne, Australia during sabbatical in 1992.
