SACL staffer dons business hat to sign MOU

SACL administrator Rachel Qi has some high profile roles outside the school, and during December signed an MOU on behalf of the China and New Zealand Business Council, which she co-chairs.

School of Accounting and Commercial Law administrator Rachel Qi has some high profile roles outside the school, and during December signed an MOU with the New Zealand China International Trade Association (NZCITA) on behalf of the China and New Zealand Business Council (CANZBC), which she co-chairs.

The signing took place during 10th anniversary celebrations for the Council, which were held in the Parliament Buildings on Wednesday 7 December 2016 and hosted by the Hon Craig Foss, Minister for Small Business.

During the reception, the Political Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy Mr Qu Guangzhou, Dr Jian Yang MP, Professor Robert Buckle ONZM, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean of Commerce, and business representatives witnessed the Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony.

Rachel Qi said: "By signing the MOU the relationship aims to provide more cooperation opportunities between New Zealand and Chinese businesses, and a better platform for businesses from both New Zealand and China."

Rachel has been a co-chair and board member of the CANZBC for over two years. It is a bi-national, member-supported organisation based in Wellington, assisting New Zealand and Chinese companies and professionals in understanding and conducting successful business together, as well as in developing solid business relationships between China and New Zealand.

NZCITA is a non-profit organisation based in Auckland, and has signed MoU agreements with 26 cities and provinces in China.
