Current role

Wendy works as a half time clinical practice advisor with 1.5 days of supervising students in the Clinical Psychology Centre and 1 day of teaching and other responsibilities. Wendy’s students work with children and families in the clinic, primarily in the areas of behaviour problems, anxiety, feeding and eating issues and neuropsychological assessments. Wendy’s teaching includes interviewing skills at Honours level and clinical topics at the practicum level. She currently works in private practice and provides individual and family therapy for children and adults, supervision and consultation. She teaches one day seminars on the topics of attachment, early relationships, maltreatment and foster care both nationally and in Australia.

Background

Wendy brings to this role over 30 years of experience as a clinical psychologist, which includes 25 years of providing training to practitioners. She has worked in a variety of settings including a psychiatric hospital, pain clinic, sexual abuse counselling centre, Child, Youth and Family and a child and adolescent mental health service. Wendy completed her PhD in 2015 on the topic of the importance of foster parents understanding of the foster child in their care.
