The Roderic Alley Prize in Human Rights

This Prize was established in 2004 in honour of Dr Roderic Alley on the occasion of his retirement from Political Science and International Relations after a career that began in 1967. The Prize is designed to reward student achievement in the study of human rights, a major field of teaching and research interest throughout Dr Alley's career.

1. The Prize shall be known as the Roderic Alley Prize.
2. The Prize shall be awarded annually to the student in Political Science or International Relations judged to be most worthy of the award who, in the year of the award, has completed an essay or a thesis on an aspect of human rights.
3. The Prize shall be awarded by the Academic Board on the recommendation of the Head of the School of History , Philosophy, Political Science and International Relations in consultation with the academic staff and Head of Programme in Political Science and International Relations.
4. The names of the students awarded this Prize shall be inscribed on the Honours Board at the premises of the School of History, Philosophy, Political Science and International Relations.
