Elizabeth McLeayProfessorBA VUW, PhD Auck, DipTchProfileElizabeth McLeay is Professor in Comparative Politics. She teaches New Zealand politics and government and research methods. She has also taught 'Women and Politics'. A former director of the Housing Corporation of New Zealand and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Elizabeth was also co-founder of the New Zealand Politics Research Group, co-editor of Political Science and was a member of the New Zealand Political Change Project. Current Research ProjectsHer books and articles have been on the areas of cabinet government, Parliament, the political representation of Maori and women, comparative public policy, housing and policing policy, and the New Zealand political class. Her present research interests are in the areas of constitutional and institutional change, political representation, and comparative parliamentary autonomy.
