Newsletter
Each month the PGSA produces an online newsletter specifically for postgraduates at Victoria
University. It brings a variety of material to keep you in the loop with what’s on offer on
campus. For those in a hurry, there’s a list up front of the key things covered in each issue.
This always includes events that are being organised by us.
We review events that have happened in the previous month, and maybe you’ll spot yourself
or your friends in photos. Then there are regular columns – one about all manner of things
on campus, ranging from coffee spots to IT services we have access to; and another from the
Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Research. We’re also happy to consider including articles
from postgrads if you’d like to submit something, maybe about a conference you’ve been to, a
great but cheap restaurant you’ve discovered in town, or … well, you suggest something.
An important component each month is information about upcoming conferences, workshops,
and assorted projects. There’s room here to call for participants for your research. Provide us
with a short outline of the study, the participants you need, and any enticements!
There’s information about Scholarships and a wide variety of classified advertisements
covering everything from reminders to apply for Faculty Grants to offers of help for
international students, from film evenings to job vacancies.
Last, but not least, you can find names, contacts and a little information about your
representatives on the PGSA Executive committee. We are all Postgrad students too. If
you’re interested, check out what this involves click here
