The New Zealand School of Music invites secondary school big bands and jazz combos to Wellington for two days of competitions, workshops and clinics, all taking place at the same time as the Wellington Jazz Festival 7 - 11 June.

We have some exceptional musicians joining us as guest artists for the Jazz Project this year, including one of the world’s greatest living drummers, Dave Weckl,  Grammy Award-winning Santana vocalist Tony LindsayDown Beat rising sax star Adam Schroeder, and Mingus Big Band trumpeter Alex Sipiagin.

Through our partnership with the Wellington Jazz Festival, we’re excited to offer NZSM Jazz Project high schools a limited number of specially priced student and teacher tickets for international artists playing at the Opera House, Wellington as part of the Festival.

Don’t miss this opportunity to experience world class jazz in Wellington and learn from the masters.
