History:
The Institute's key focus is on international trends and developments that impact on New Zealand. Since 2003 seminars have been held on the climate change, globalisation, European Union enlargement, the OECD's role in development assistance, relations with Japan, and the major foreign policy issues facing New Zealand 2005-2010. The Institute has been pleased to host addresses by the Prime Minister of Norway,the NATO Secretary-General, the Foreign Ministers of Australia and Chile, the EU Commissioner for Agriculture, and the former Commonwealth Secretary-General Sir Shridath Ramphal. There have been a series of roundtable discussions with high profile visitors, and the launch of four books sponsored by the Institute.
