Masters Degrees
What's the Difference Between a Master's Degree by Coursework and a Master's Degree by Thesis?
A Master's degree by coursework requires you to complete specific courses and a research project or thesis, while a Master's by thesis does not require coursework - the entire degree involves researching a topic that interests you and producing a thesis to support your work.

Classes and Study Commitments
As part of your study you will need to attend 'Schools' at Victoria University that are designed to supplement your learning, give you time for study and provide you with access to our staff for advice and guidance.
Normally held at our campus in Wellington, they are also a great opportunity for you to meet and mingle with your fellow students - to share ideas and strategies for learning, identify areas for change and benchmark your progress. Some of our collaborative courses are held at other locations, such as within a hospital setting.
Entry Requirements
You must be a Registered Nurse with a current practising certificate from the Nursing Council of New Zealand. You must also have completed a Bachelors degree from a New Zealand tertiary institution, or apply for admission with equivalent status on the basis of extensive practice, professional or scholarly experience of an appropriate kind.
