A new student space called The Bubble has opened in the Student Union Building on Victoria University of Wellington’s Kelburn campus.

The Bubble

“The Bubble is a really important step forward for the University’s goal of improving and promoting student wellbeing. Students will be able to take some time out from studying in a space that is relaxed and just a bit homely,” says Gerard Hoffman, Manager, Student Counselling.

Student wellbeing leaders have been recruited and trained to coordinate activities, provide peer support and make referrals where appropriate.

They are available at The Bubble 11am- 2pm Monday to Friday.

Victoria’s Vice-Provost (Academic and Equity), Associate Professor Allison Kirkman, spoke at the opening, along with Pam Thorburn, Director Student Academic Services, Rick Zwaan, VUWSA President, Rachel Riedel, Wellbeing Educator and Advisor, and Gerard Hoffman.
