Fees increase around $265 per student

Domestic students at Victoria University will pay, on average, $265 more in tuition fees in 2014 as a result of increases agreed to by the University Council.

Yesterday’s Dominion Post incorrectly stated that students would face increases of up to $2,500.

“That is absolutely wrong,” says Vice-Chancellor Professor Pat Walsh. “The four percent increase for domestic students will see them paying between $192 and $324 more next year, depending on their study programme.

“Our increases are in line with fee increases at other New Zealand universities for 2014 and will still mean Victoria has some of the lowest fees in the country.”
