The Study Group for Forced Migration of Children is a non-profit, non-political multi-disciplinary research group set up at Victoria University of Wellington in 2009. The Study Group works collaboratively with organizations and scholars in New Zealand and abroad to advance knowledge on the history of refugees and displaced persons in New Zealand, on their resettlement and reception in the receiving society, and on personal recollections and experiences. The main focus of the Study Group is on juvenile continental European refugees and displaced persons who came to New Zealand in the 1930s, 40s and 50s. However, the Study Group intends to extend its research into late twenty and early twenty-first century refugees. |
