'Love, Loyalty & Lust' -
Couple Relationships
Research and Practice Conference held on 15 and 16 September 2006 at Victoria University.
This two-day conference was jointly held by
the Roy McKenzie Centre for the Study of Families Te Putahi Rangahau Whanau, and Relationship Services Whakawhanaungatanga for professional counsellors and researchers.
Both organisations have a strong commitment to evidence based practice, and believe bringing together researchers and practitioners to listen and learn from each other can only benefit the profession in New Zealand.
Dr Rajen Prasad, Chief Commissioner, Families Commission opened the conference.
Five key note speakers presenting during the two day session:
- Professor Mason Durie, Massey University.
- Dr Julie Fitness, Macquarie University, Sydney.
- Professor Garth Fletcher, Canterbury University.
- Johnella Bird, The Family Therapy Centre, Auckland.
- Robyn Salisbury, Sex Therapy New Zealand Ltd.
A choice of 23 workshops was available for delegates during the two days.
The conference was attended by 175 people and supported by Families Commission and Telecom.
