Services for Staff

We invite teachers to visit the LLC often, and to encourage students to study independently at the centre. Work closely with us to support VUW language courses!

Supporting Teaching, Learning and Research

  • pdf Languitude- Download the July 2011 issue of our newsletter for teachers/tutors
  • Throughout your course, always keenly encourage your students to engage in independent learning at the LLC.
  • As courses start, allow us to inform your students about the LLC and the dedicated support we provide. Set up in advance with course coordinators and held in class time, LLC Orientation urges students to be active language learners by immersing themselves in language and culture at the LLC.
  • Hold your audiovisual classes at the LLC to teach with multimedia content and specialised technologies for languages. For info on digitising, suggestions on computer assisted language learning course activities and training in the use of the computer classrooms, contact Edith our Language Technology Specialist.
  • Plan an assignment or assessment task for your students to complete at the LLC out of class time. Please set up with LLC staff.
  • Pass us your suggestions for multimedia resources to purchase for the Language Learning Centre
  • Contact LLC staff with your ideas for further collaboration
  • While teaching and learning constitute our core business, LLC staff are keen to support research undertaken by language teachers, visiting scholars, and postgraduate students. Enquiries are welcome.
  • Check here for the LLC's news and events
