The J C Beaglehole Room is the Library's supervised research room for rare and fine printing, archives and manuscripts, historic photographs etc. All these collections are now stored away from the J C Beaglehole reading room and it is necessary to book in advance. This form is to assist those who would otherwise need to visit solely to request an item.
Please note:
- If you do not hear from us, you can assume the item will be available from 10 a.m. the following weekday.
- Please ensure that the item you are requesting is not available elsewhere in the University Library.
- Items must be used in the J C Beaglehole Room only.
- You will need to sign an agreement for use before materials will be issued. Please bring identification with you.
- J C Beaglehole Room staff are very happy to help with clarifying call numbers when you are ordering material. However, if the archives collection you wish to use has not been processed onto the National Register of Archives and Manuscripts then you may need to visit to use the paper-based finding aids to establish the archival reference. There may be additional delays if the archives you are requesting have a restriction on access, or the publication you are requesting requires conservation.
