Introduction to Teaching with Blackboard

This hands-on course introduces participants to Blackboard – a web-based environment used at Victoria to provide online support for learning and teaching. This course provides an overview of Blackboard tools and functionalities. You will learn how to set up a basic course web site, upload and modify course content, set up discussion boards and other communication tools. Online Assessment with Blackboard

Using online assessment effectively is a good way to ensure that students understand important concepts and achieve better results in their final tests and exams. It can also be an effective way of giving and receiving feedback. In this workshop you will learn how to set up electronic submissions of assignments, online tests and surveys, and how to use the Blackboard Grade Centre. ***Using Mixed Media - Please bring your headphones for this session***

Teaching Technology: drop-in support session

These sessions are informal 'hands on' support sessions for staff using Technology for Learning and Teaching and want a little more support. Preparation - Bring along the ideas and resources for the challenge you want to overcome. You can come for a few minutes or stay the whole hour! Feel free to bring your own laptop/tablet. Registration is recommended, support provided on a first-come first-served basis.
