Introduction
Workplace Communication for Skilled Migrants is a non-credit, 1 trimester programme (ELIN 003) to help you understand and develop appropriate communication skills in New Zealand workplaces, to understand employment conditions in New Zealand and to gain New Zealand workplace experience.

Course Description
Read a description of the history, philosophy and operation of ELIN 003 Workplace Communication for Skilled Migrants and a description of the partnership of the course with the Rotary Club of Wellington here.
Who is ELIN 003 for?
The course is specifically for recently arrived migrants with a Bachelor degree or higher, whose first language is not English. Migrants' English proficiency level must be good - IELTS 6.0 or above. Migrants must be permanent residents who are currently underemployed or unemployed, and have a minimum of three years work experience in their profession.
Migrants must be referred to the course by the ESOL Assessment and Access Specialist Service.

Timetable
This course is full time and consists of six weeks of guided communication skills practice in the classroom and six weeks of work placement.
Final Assessment and Certificate
A certificate of participation in Workplace Communication for Skilled Migrants will be awarded to students who fulfil mandatory course requirements.

This programme is partly funded by Wellington Region Work and Income, Ministry of Social Development (MSD).
