Access Grid (service now discontinued)
Please note that the provision of an Access Grid service ceased on 4th April 2014.
For security reasons the Government issued a requirement that all Windows XP machines were to be removed from the university's network after this time. Access Grid technology was reliant on an XP platform, hence therefore it was no longer possible to host the technology at Victoria University. Other alternatives (such as videoconferencing) will continue to be available.
Access Grid Technology
Access Grid was a technology that allowed groups at multiple sites to interact simultaneously, sharing multiple streams of video/audio, data and information.
An Access Grid Node was a room and communication system set up for collaborative communication with other Access Grid Nodes around the world. The Access Grid supported large-scale distributed meetings, collaborative work sessions, seminars, lectures, tutorials, and training.
ITS no longer hosts or supports any Access Grid facilities
