Pacific Courses and Programmes

Victoria offers unique programmes of study for Pacific students. If you wish to, you can study things that directly relate to you and your identity or experience. There are courses focusing on aspects of Pacific societies in Art History, Education, English Literature, Geography, History, International Relations, Law, Māori Studies, Music and Political Science.

A Samoan Studies major of Samoan language and culture courses is offered for the Bachelor of Arts degree, and a multidisciplinary Pacific Studies major covers the histories, cultures and politics of Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesian peoples. Both of these are offered by Va'aomanū Pasifika.


Postgraduate Study

There are a wide range of postgraduate courses on offer at Victoria and the Pacific Programme of the Va'aomanū Pasifika now offers postgraduate study through to Master's and PhD level.

Certificate of University Preparation (CUP)

This one-trimester preparation programme introduces you to the skills required to succeed at university. You don't need to have university entrance to enrol. Successful completion of the Certificate qualifies you for admission to undergraduate degree level study at Victoria.
