Intermediate Programmes

Intermediates are first-year degree programmes for other universities which are offered by Victoria University.

Victoria offers the following first-year programmes for professional degrees at other universities. After completing your first year at Victoria, you then apply to the university offering the professional years of the degree.

Otago University Bachelor of Surveying

INFO 101, MATH 113 and 114, STAT 193, WRIT 101 at Victoria; and SURV 111 as an Otago University distance-taught course in the first trimester; and at least one other course (such as in Physics, Geography, Geology, Marketing, Management, Design or Architecture).

Canterbury University Bachelor of Speech and Language Therapy

You will need to take seven 100-level courses and maintain a good grade average to be accepted into Canterbury's programme.

Recommended first-year courses at Victoria are PSYC 121 and 122, MAOR 123, EDUC 112, BMSC 114, LALS 101, and one 100-level ENGL course or WRIT 101.


Canterbury University Engineering

You will need to take the following courses:

Chemical and Process Engineering: CHEM 103 and 104, MATH 113 and 114, PHYS 114 and 115, plus one elective.

Electrical and Electronic Engineering: COMP 102, MATH 113 and 114, PHYS 114 and 115, TECH 102, plus one elective.
