Introduction
The Victoria University of Wellington academic year is divided into three trimesters:
- First trimester (1/3): March - June
- Second trimester (2/3): July - October (exams continue into November)
- Third trimester (3/3): November - February
Trimester Three: A limited selection of courses is offered outside Trimesters One and Two. Courses offered in Trimester Three have various start and end dates. Most run during the period called 'Summer School' which is a defined six-week period of teaching during January and February.
Academic year dates until 2014.

There are special closing dates for applications for a number of programmes - please check the website carefully.
