New Zealand Association of Bridging Educators 9th National Conference
Making the Links: Learning, Teaching and High Quality Student Outcomes
29 September to 1 October 2010, Wellington, New Zealand
The 2010 New Zealand Association of Bridging Educators Conference 2010 is being hosted by Victoria University of Wellington and will be held at the CQ Conference and Function Centre, at the Quality Hotel, on Cuba Street, in central Wellington.
The biannual conference provides the opportunity to disseminate research and practice related to bridging education. With an emphasis in the New Zealand Tertiary Education Strategy on providing pathways for students from foundation programmes to higher levels of tertiary study, papers and workshops exploring examples of research and best practice in this area, which have lead to students persisting in their goal of accessing further tertiary education, are welcomed for this year's conference.
Contexts may include, but are not limited to:
- Institutional/programme initiatives
- Curriculum initiatives
- Staff development
- Strategies for retention of students who may not have experienced previous success in education contexts
- Bridging education's response to the changing tertiary environment
- New technology outside the classroom and within
- Bridging education and diverse ways of knowing
