Important Fee Information

This page outlines the fees for domestic students. Domestic students are generally citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand, but this category includes some other groups as set out in section 3 of the Fees Statute 2010.

For information regarding 2009 Fees, please consult 2009 Fees Page.

An approximation of yearly costs for international students can be made using the Victoria International cost calculator.

Tuition fees are calculated on a per point basis. Each course has a number of points associated with it, so the amount charged will vary depending on your choice of courses.

Some courses have additional charges for items such as study materials, equipment or field trips. These charges are detailed in the relevant undergraduate or postgraduate prospectus.

New Zealand School of Music

For fees and levies applicable to students enrolled in New Zealand School of Music programmes (including tuition fees and course related costs), please refer to the New Zealand School of Music website.

How it works

If you don't know your course code and number (an example would be ASIA 111):

  • Go to the Course Catalogue.
  • Enter the course criteria you wish to search on.
  • Click on the calculator icon next to each course you would like to study.
  • View your total on the Fees Calculator.

If you do know your course code and number (e.g. ASIA 111):

  • Go to the Fees Calculator.
  • Go to the "Add courses to your calculator" section.
  • Enter the course code and number in the boxes provided, and press "Add" to see the fee for that course.
  • You can then add further courses if you wish.
Please note: While we make every effort to ensure the information it presents is accurate, the Fees Calculator is indicative only. Your final fees account will be calculated and invoiced by Victoria University upon acceptance of your enrolment application.
