Limited Entry / Preferential Date

The demand for some qualifications and courses at Victoria is likely to exceed the number of places available, so their intake has to be limited. This section lists these programmes and courses and the maximum number of students accepted for each. The criteria used by each Faculty to select students for limited entry courses and programmes are found on the Faculty Selection Criteria page. In all cases, these selection criteria are applied in accordance with the equity goals set out in the Victoria University Charter.

Standard application closing dates

Description Trimester 1

Trimester 2

Contact details for each Faculty can be found on the Contact Us page.

Application Deadline

For those programmes and courses that are not limited entry students must submit enrolment by the Application Deadline to ensure a place.

Applications received after these deadlines will mean:

  • You will be liable for a $120 late application fee. This fee will not be covered by student loan and must be paid before you can collect / update your student ID card. Grades will not be accessible until this fee has been paid.
  • Your application may be considered, but admission into the university or selection into a programme or course of study is not assured

No applications (first year or returning students) will be accepted after the beginning of trimester. Any requests for exceptions can only be considered by the Manager, Enrolments (CSA).

Open Entry Courses and Qualifications

All courses and qualifications that are not listed on this page have no limit to the number of places available.  However, some degrees may have specific entry requirements - for example, you must have completed a BA with a Classics major before you can enrol for a BA (Hons) in Classics.

Similarly, many courses have prerequisites that you must have completed before you can be accepted into them - for example, you must have passed FREN 215 before you can take FREN 216.

Information about entry requirements and prerequisites can be found in the Course Catalogue, the University Calendar, or individual School and Faculty Prospectuses.
