Victoria is a thriving community of almost 25,000 people. Most are students of all nationalities, from all walks of life – who have come to learn in the vital, open environment that only university study can offer.

Victoria in the year 2011
In 2011, Victoria University employed 1,974 full-time equivalent staff.
A total of 22,234 students were enrolled. Of these:
- 46 percent were male
- 54 percent were female
- 19,281 were domestic students
- 2,953 were international students
- 1,980 were Māori students
- 1,064 were Pacific students
In 2011 Victoria awarded 5,958 degrees, doctorates, diplomas and certificates.
