Early childhood, primary and secondary school teachers make a positive difference to the lives of the children they teach.

Victoria's Faculty of Education provides qualifications which recognise education as a multi-disciplinary field. Our programmes equip students to work effectively within the diversity of the education industry, and make a positive difference to the lives of the children they teach.

The Faculty of Education offers undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programmes spanning every aspect of the study of education, preparation for teaching and professional development of teachers.

We offer courses in Education, Early Childhood Studies and Gender and Women's Studies which contribute to the BA degree administered by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Programmes we offer

Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education): BA/BTeach(ECE) - a four-year conjoint degree programme.

Bachelor of Education (Teaching) Early Childhood Upgrade: BEd(Tchg)EC Upgrade - designed to offer practising early childhood teachers the opportunity to build on the knowledge and skills gained during their previous studies and teaching practice.

Conjoint Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Teaching: BA/BTeach

Conjoint Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Teaching: BSc/BTeach

Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education): GDipTchg(ECE): one year, full-time programme

Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Primary): GDipTchg(Primary) - one year, full-time programme

Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Secondary): GDipTchg(Secondary) - one year, full-time programme

Bachelor of Arts: BA (Please note: Only courses in Education, Early Childhood Studies or Gender and Women's Studies)

Postgraduate Study

Postgraduate degrees follow on from undergraduate degrees.

They are designed for specialised study in a field, and often include a component of supervised original research. They provide training in research methods and process, critical evaluation of published research, and further study in selected topics.
