Welcome

We believe in the value of education.

The Victoria University Foundation is a charitable trust that is registered with the New Zealand Charities Commission. The Foundation raises private funds for projects of strategic importance to Victoria University that could not otherwise be funded. These projects are many and varied, reflecting the interests of our donors and sponsors and the needs of the University and its students.

With the support of our graduate and wider community Victoria is helping to build a well educated society through the teaching and research of our staff, and the achievements of our students.

On 1 April 2008 the limit of $1,890 on individual charitable donations eligible for a charitable gift taxation rebate of one third was removed, and replaced by a limit of the annual net income of the donor. For corporate sponsors the limit of five percent of annual net income on sponsorships entitled to a deduction was removed, and replaced by the annual net income of the sponsor.

In January 2010 the government introduced a Payroll Giving scheme, enabling donors who are subject to PAYE to make donations automatically through their employer's payroll systems and to receive an immediate one third tax credit.
