Our Projects

The Foundation has an important role in supporting Victoria's strategic objectives to secure its future as a quality, research-led University through raising private funds in the following categories:

  • Student Awards - scholarships and prizes
  • Academic Programmes - research institutes, centres and programmes
  • Academic Positions - chairs, fellowships, visiting lectureships
  • Library and Art Collections - books, periodicals, databases, exhibitions
  • Student Services - such as mentoring programmes and student facilities

Examples of Current Fundraising Projects

We are always looking for new initiatives and opportunities and are currently seeking funding for specific priority projects including:

  • Solar Decathlon (Architecture Student Project)
  • Rutherford House (Commerce Faculty) - naming rights
  • Chair in e-Government
  • Drug Addiction Research
  • Climate Change Research Institute
  • Hunter Postgraduate Scholarship Fund
  • Antarctic Research Centre - Endowed Development Fund for Scholarships
  • Victoria Trust Fund - untied donations are the most valued of all gifts. They are used at the discretion of the Foundation's Trustees and the Vice-Chancellor for unique opportunities as they arise
  • Research programmes across a range of disciplines
  • Scholarships across all subjects for students demonstrating academic excellence and/or financial hardship at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and particularly PhD students
  • Library books, periodicals, and databases across all disciplines
  • Visiting Fellowship in Philosophy
  • Boyd-Wilson Field Project
  • Chair in Public Finance
  • Chair in Business in Asia
