Datacom Scholarship awarded

Victoria University student, Neil Becker, won the eight annual Datacom Systems Scholarship for their achievements in Computer Science.

Neil was awarded $3,750 in recognition of his returning to University to complete his degree after a less than successful first venture and 15+ years in alternative employment, and his acquisition of excellent grades whilst also working.

Alastair Turrell, Director, Datacom Services, says the high standard of all the nominees made the task of selection for the scholarship extremely difficult.

John Hine, Professor of Computer Science at Victoria University, said the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science truly appreciates the support for its students demonstrated by Datacom.

The scholarship is open to full time second year students in Computer Science who are going on to third year study at Victoria University.
