Maintenance

Building Maintenance Overview

The primary function of maintenance is to operate and maintain the University's building assets to ensure these are kept in as close to a near new and serviceable condition as possible.

All maintenance issues should be reported as quickly as possible as these reports assist in preventing small faults developing into major defects.

Downer EDI Limited have been contracted to provide this service at all campuses.

Building Maintenance Services

General maintenance services include:

  • Carpentry, joinery and general building work
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • Air conditioning and mechanical services
  • Painting
  • Glazing
  • Lift and fire alarm maintenance
  • Floor covering repairs and replacement
  • Corrective maintenance
  • Preventive maintenance

Requesting Work

Except in an emergency, requests for reactive maintenance must be made via the appointed Facilities Management Co-ordinator for the particular School or CSU. This is usually the Administration Manager.

All requests must be made via Facilities Management FM-ServiceDesk@vuw.ac.nz or 463 6600.
