Victoria Scholarships
Victoria University offers an extensive scholarship program for PhD candidates. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and/or research experience and publication record.
Applicants for Victoria scholarship funding will be considered for one of two scholarships:
Victoria PhD Scholarships
The University currently awards over 75 Victoria PhD Scholarships annually. This scholarship provides a tax-free living allowance of NZ$21,000 per annum for up to three years and covers tuition fees during the tenure of the scholarship.
Victoria Doctoral Assistantship
A further 30 candidates will be offered a Victoria Doctoral Assistantship. This scholarship provides a tax-free living allowance of NZ$15,000, tuition fees and employment in the school as a tutor or research assistant to the value of NZ$5,000 per annum for up to three years.
Who is Eligible?
All prospective and existing PhD students are eligible to apply for Victoria PhD scholarships, irrespective of residence or nationality.
How to Apply?
Prospective students use the same form to apply for both Victoria PhD funding and admission as a PhD candidate.
