Our commitment to the continuing education of working professionals is shown by the more than 600 students participating in our post-experience programmes.

Our mission states that 'we pursue and share knowledge...'.  We enjoy the challenge of teaching a wide range of programmes and meeting the differing academic needs of a diverse set of students.

Research is vital to the academic programmes of the Faculty. All schools in the Faculty maintain a high level of research commitment. Our academic staff engage with colleagues within Victoria, the business and public sectors and with researchers at other New Zealand and international universities and research institutes, to collaborate to produce outstanding national and international research. Staff present papers at leading international conferences in their disciplines and publish those papers in the best academic journals. Students enjoy the benefits of this research activity through the ability of staff to inform their teaching with their own original research. This year we have established an Undergraduate Research Development Programme to encourage high achieving undergraduate students to engage in research. These students will be employed on research projects nominated by academic staff, but supervised (allowing them some participation in research design, and implementation etc). Staff also share a commitment to the communication of their research findings through seminars and workshops for practitioners and through the classroom.

We play a distinctive role in connecting New Zealand to the world, through international linkages in research, learning and scholarship, and through the diversity of our staff and student body.  This year we have launched Undergraduate Exchange Scholarships to provide further opportunities for our most able students to reap the benefits of studying abroad.

We are proud of the quality of our teaching and research programmes, and of the calibre of our academic and administrative staff.  Recognition from accreditation bodies supports this.

We are also proud of our graduates. They succeed at the highest level in all walks of life, both in New Zealand and internationally.

Enjoy browsing through our website and please feel welcome to contact our willing staff with any further questions.
