Six schools contribute to the degrees and programmes of the Faculty of Commerce and Administration at undergraduate, postgraduate and post-experience levels. Bachelor of Commerce and Administration first-year courses, and courses for students majoring in Communications, e-Commerce, and Information Systems, are taught at the Kelburn Campus. All remaining courses are taught at the Pipitea Campus.

School of Accounting and Commercial Law

The School of Accounting and Commercial Law offers courses in Accounting and Law at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Location

The School is located on levels 6 and 7 of Rutherford House at the Pipitea Campus. The School Office is situated on level 7.

Head of School

The Head of School role is currently being shared by three Professors.  Professor Tony van Zijl, Professor Judy Brown and Professor  Kevin Holmes.

School of Economics and Finance

The School of Economics and Finance offers over 70 courses in Economics, Econometrics, Money and Finance and Economic History at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Location

The School is located on levels 3 and 4 of Rutherford House at the Pipitea Campus.

Head of School

The Head of School is Professor Morris Altman.

The School of Government offers undergraduate, postgraduate and post-experience courses in Public Policy and Public Management as well as professional development studies in Strategic Management.

Location

The School is located on levels, 4, 5 & 8 of Rutherford House at the Pipitea Campus. The School Office is situated on level 8.

School of Information Management

The School of Information Management offers courses at undergraduate level in Information Systems, e-Commerce and Communications. The School also teaches in the Bachelor of Information Technology degree; offers the Master of Information Management (MIM) post-experience degree programme, the Master of Library & Information Studies (MLIS) and the Certificate and Diploma in Archives & Records Management. It also contributes to other programmes including the Masters of Business Administration.  Research-oriented Honours, Masters (MA and MCA) and PhD programmes are also available. The School initiated a new undergraduate programme in 2008, the Bachelor of Business Information Systems (BBIS).

Location

The School is situated on levels 1 and 2 of the Easterfield building at the Kelburn Campus. The Director for the Master of Information Management programme operates from offices on both level 4 of the Railway West Wing at the Pipitea Campus, and the second floor of the Easterfield building.

School of Marketing and International Business

The School of Marketing and International Business offers courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level in Marketing and International Business.

Location

The School is located on level 11 of Rutherford House at the Pipitea Campus.

Victoria Management School

The Victoria Management School includes the disciplines of Human Resource Management & Industrial Relations, Management, Māori Business and Tourism Management. The School offers courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels across these areas. A wide variety of professional programmes are also offered, e.g. the Master of Business Administration.

Location

The Victoria Management School is located on levels 9 and 10 of Rutherford House at the Pipitea Campus. The School Office is situated on level 10.
