Key responsibilities

Frances is a model making technician for the Faculty and she is part of the 3D modelling workshops technical team.

She is primarily responsible for operating and supporting student requirements in the first year workshop.

Frances’ responsibilities include:

• supervision, technical support, maintenance and training, in support of the first year workshop
• liaising with staff regarding specific first year project requirements
• encouraging and demonstrating good workshop and health and safety practices to first year students.

Frances comes from a background in New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA) based carpentry training, and has completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Design Studies at the Wellington Faculty of Architecture and Design Innovation, Victoria University of Wellington.

Various parts of the workshop are open continuously, however the machinery areas are only available for use while there are technical staff present to supervise machinery.
