Faculty Board

Purpose

The Engineering Faculty Board is responsible for advising the Academic Board and the Vice-Chancellor on all aspects of the academic qualifications, academic programmes and research matters for which the Faculty has responsibility. The Faculty Board also approves and recommends the requirements of all engineering degrees, diplomas and certificates offered at Victoria University to the Academic Board.

Membership

All full time and some part time academic staff employed by the Faculty are members of the Board. Additional ex officio and appointed members attend meetings, as well as up to seven student members nominated by VUWSA. Meetings are chaired by the Dean.

Advisory Board

Purpose

The Engineering Advisory Board provides a forum in which the Faculty's educational and research programmes and its strategic and operational plans are presented and discussed with representatives from industry, professional groups and academia. The aim is continually to improve the quality and relevance of the Faculty's activities and to develop active co-operation with, and support from, other bodies wherever appropriate.

Meeting dates

The full board meets annually in February and the New Zealand members meet in August each year.
