There is a wide range of scholarships and awards available for students studying at the Faculty of Education, Victoria University at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
TeachNZ

Ministry of Education
The Ministry of Education offers Study Awards, Fellowships, Study Support grants and Sabbaticals for early childhood, primary and secondary teachers, allowing you to pursue graduate or postgraduate tertiary study. Faculty of Education
Prizes and awards available within the Faculty of Education, include:
- Habens Prize
Best undergraduate student gaining at least 36 points during the year for EDUC 100-, 200-, or 300-level courses. - The Swafford Family Prize
This prize has been established by Glenn Swafford, a graduate of Victoria University, to acknowledge an outstanding student enrolled in the Faculty of Education at Victoria University. Selection will be based on academic merit with special consideration also given to financial need. One prize will be awarded annually to an outstanding student within the Faculty of Education in the relevant year selected by the Faculty of Education Scholarships Committee Representative in consultation with the Scholarships Committee and awarded by the Academic Board. - The Ilse B Steinberger Prize in Primary Teaching
One Prize will be awarded annually to the top Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Primary) student in the Faculty of Education who has achieved both academic excellence and excellence in their teaching performance in the relevant year. - Jackie Matthews Prize in Women's Studies
Best student majoring in Women's Studies. - Phillida Bunkle Prize in Women's Studies
Students who have completed the best Masters thesis and best PhD thesis in Women's Studies. - New Horizons Research Award

Victoria University Summer Scholars Scheme
The Faculty of Education is participating in the Victoria University Summer Scholars Scheme over the summer trimester 2011-2012. Applications for positions are now closed and students that have applied for the programme will be contacted directly regarding their application.
